Kathy Harrington is a university teacher and researcher in the field of higher education pedagogy based in London. She is interested in the psycho-social dimension of teaching and learning, and in the applicability of ideas from psychoanalysis, group analysis, and systems theory of organisations for understanding resistance and effecting change through groups in educational settings.
Kathy grew up in California before coming to the UK over twenty years ago. She holds a PhD in Victorian Studies, and has also studied at the Institute of Group Analysis (London) and on the organisational consultancy programme at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust (London). She is an avid social dreamer and a member of the Gordon Lawrence Foundation for Social Dreaming.
